All rugs shown in the gallery were designed and are copyrighted by Laura Salamy. Unless otherwise indicated they are available for sale. SOLD rugs can often be re- or similarly created. If interested in a particular rug or if you have questions, please contact Laura at Laura@highonhooking.com.

Current work includes small, medium, and larger rugs; table mats and runners; bench covers; pillows; and wall hangings. Suitability for use on the floor depends on the materials used to hook the rug.
About custom work: I produce my own designs but can often work from a customer’s drawing or inspiration. A child’s or grandchild’s picture is easily converted to a permanent keepsake. The rugs below were based on artwork by some little friends of mine.

Again, this is not a comprehensive gallery of High on Hooking’s work. We try to keep up with listing inventory, but sometimes fall behind. This is because hooking is so much more fun than working online. 🙂
“Red Rocks and Super Fund Sites” was our first 2020 rug. It’s hooked using recycled t-shirts and plastic bags. 31.5″x11″
“Rings of Life” – a hooked rug with…a hole in it! And glass beads! SOLD
“Big boucherouite” was hooked using woven and knit bed sheets with some t-shirt thrown in. 49″x53″.
“The Ripening” is all New Mexico. 9.5″x9.5″
“Journey” was hooked with recycled bed sheets and a smattering of t-shirt. SOLD
“Memory of Water.” Framed, she’s about 22.5″x18.5″. Hooked with plastic bags on monks’ cloth.

“Sacred Life” is a 10″x10″ wall hanging Velcroed to a frame, so it’s ready to mount on your wall. Materials: wool yarn, sari yarn, velvet strips, fabric strips.

“Fireworks,” hooked with old t-shirts and sparkly novelty ribbon. SOLD
Commission of our “Woof” pattern. Changed colors and added the American flag for a 4th of July look per customers request.
