Just stopping in for a brief update as I’m not feeling so well today. If you’re a local or coming to visit New Mexico (as you should, it’s a kick-ass place!) soon – as in this weekend – you simply must travel at least a bit on the 2nd annual New Mexico Fiber Crawl. It runs Friday through Sunday. Download your passport (and maps) and head for your vehicle. As I mentioned last week, Kathy Kelly and I will be vending and demonstrating at Casa San Ysidro in Coralles. We hope to see at least one or eight of you. Maybe margaritas afterwards???
So, say your big New Mexican adventure has you here the week AFTER the New Mexico Fiber Crawl. No worries! Come visit High on Hooking during our first Sunday at Albuquerque’s 2018 Rail Yard Market. There you’ll find…us!, yummy food, music, farm-fresh produce, and other artists selling their wares. What? Your dog is with you? No problem! Dogs are always welcome. Come get a doggie biscuit at the High on Hooking booth. Remember: Dogs love rugs!!!
Wow – it’s go, go, go for you! Wish that I could come and enjoy. We talked about visiting CO this year but don’t feel like it now! It’s a great time of year in our yard and there’s lots going on before the hot, hot summer starts. I’m thinking next winter.
Love the zinnias rug…
I’ve had a busy patch too, but except for some fun weekend activities coming up, I’m free. There’s so much to do! The weeds are growing like crazy cause we’re having a bunch of rain and I just ran out to plant some string beans before the next deluge.
I did some dyeing with friends the other day and have more to do for me.
Have a wonderful weekend – as always, I’m jealous!
Colorado in the winter, hm? Winter is the biggest reason we don’t live in Colorado now. Love the mountains in summer and fall, but winter, not so much. Between my extra markets, and RA flare-up, and TOm’s BIG gout flare-up, we are SOOOOO behind in planting. Was supposed to get some plants today, but now pushed to tomorrow. Hopefully! We could’ve planted a month ago. Just feel a little overwhelmed lately, can’t catch up. And so can’t wait to go on vacation – we still have to chat about that. Rain! Have had none till today when the heavens opened up for maybe 15-20 minutes dumping water (not rain drops, just water) and hail. At least an inch. Oh, and the temperature dropped about 34 degrees in as the 15 or so minutes. Crazy. Wish it could’ve been slow and easy rain; we desperately need some to really seep in. Hope you had a great weekend!
Winter in CO is lovely! With the altitude and low humidity, it’s very pleasant then…snow melts by mid day, unless it’s a lot and I never wore a winter coat except in the very high mountains. Tourists love to visit in the winter – golf in the morning around Denver and skiing in the mountains in the afternoon.
Peter has gout too, but it’s well controlled; it’s a family condition.
I am overwhelmed by all the garden work. I went out yesterday for plants and will go out today. I am very late planting my (beloved) zinnia seeds, but we have a long summer so I’m sure they will be fine. The weeds are dreadful though! I must get the annuals in and weed and mulch and then it will be better. But it keeps raining!
Check out my gorgeous mountain laurel on Instagram!
Hope you have some time off from shows for a bit…
Nope – have the Rail Yards Sunday. First time this year. Then some time to rest and…clean my cluttered house! Managed to plant some today. Will do some later in the week, but something going on all weekend here. Saturday’s wine festival, Sunday’s Rail Yards, and Monday at friends’. They just moved into t anew house; should be fun. I saw all your rain – weeds and ‘squiters! Okay, you’ve got me sold. We’ve happened to stay in Vail twice, one of the times for a week, but it was summer. Great! I’d try winter, just not for a whole winter. 🙂
