Still hooking, hooking, hooking away…

Been hooking, hooking, hooking all week…

Finished hooking one of the rugs to be entered into the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta

Dog - rug hooking
Tynan’s portrait done in up-cycled t-shirt. My thanks to Cheryl Bollenbach of Colorado. I never would’ve been able to hook this rug without her help.

Still have a little ways – truly just a little – to go on the traditional floral, blue rug done in old t-shirts. Hooking to be done by tomorrow.

Tynan presents this week’s view of the current rug (photographed yesterday). Made a lot of progress on it today, actually, at my guild’s demo day at the Albuquerque BioPark.

Alternative fibers rug hooking
“Portals to Africa’ (AKA the “Surfboard Rug” by its new owner; done in up-cycled bedsheets) will also be entered into our Fiber Arts Fiesta to be held May 19-21. Calls for entry are due March 1.

Tomorrow’s the day all entries are due. Can do it online; just go to Fiesta’s website. If sending via snail mail, just make sure it’s postmarked by March 1.

Can’t wait to see you at Fiesta, May 19-21!

Love the Tynan rug! The image itself, of his nose up close is wonderful and I love the colors you chose. Having a deadline isn’t a bad thing, sometimes!
Speaking of which, I am almost finished the Jack’s Chain quilt. I have gotten so bored with making nine patches and all the repition, that I have been doing everything but the quilt.
I’m doing some Spring cleaning and house projects as we are having dessert for the neighborhood progressive dinner here. As I said, deadlines work for me! And we are waiting to get a gas line put in so we can start the kitchen re-do! I am really looking forward to that…

Ooh, I love having actual natural gas for my stove (and the grill outside!) instead of propane. Much hotter. Hear you on the deadlines. It’s usually why a lot of things (like cleaning) get done in my house. Can’t wait to see the quilt. I didn’t take the picture of Tynan. Found it on my phone a couple of years ago. Elisabeth took my phone and the shot. But I really liked it!
