I can’t believe we’re about to celebrate our second holiday season here in our newly(ish) adopted state of New Mexico. Thanksgiving is in two days! Tomorrow is the day to bake pies and get a head start on some side dishes. Come Thursday morning Tom, Tynan the Dog, and I will head out for a hike in order to burn a few calories before we slice into the turkey and taters and tarts. And as always, thank goodness, there will be hooking.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Remember, it’s all about the gratitude. (And the pumpkin pie.)
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
We’re going to a neighbor’s house for dinner. It’s gotten to be a bit much – it would be easier eating at home! I will be making a turkey on Saturday. LOVE turkey and all that goes with it.
It’s finally gotten cool here so it will feel like Thanksgiving. Flannel sheets on, quilts out, cats burrowing into them to keep warm. Looking forward to a lot of cooking.
I think I told you that Santa Fe is one of our favorite places for Thanksgiving, and hiking was always part of that.
;-D
Ooh, Santa Fe would be nice for Thanksgiving, Deb. I was up there last weekend for a great fiber festival put on by the Espanola Valley Fiber Arts Center. Oddly enough, I just opened my email (was busy cooking and doing some errands till now) and found an email from someone from the center asking me if I was interested in teaching a class there. Have to look into that, though it is about an hour and a half away. Have no idea where the chick got me name. Pleasant surprise, though. ๐ Just Tom and me tomorrow. Oh, and our 18-pound turkey. We’ll have company Christmas Eve, friends and Elisabeth’s boyfriend. Just recently turned cool here too, particularly at night. Which is good given my hot flashes. ๐ We’re in the 50s lately, though I hear next Tuesday we might only hit 38. We shall see. IN the meantime, I’ll bundle some for a hike along the Rio Grande tomorrow morning. Enjoy the day!
